Description Tradescantia fluminensis (Tradescantia albiflora)| White Wandering Jew ‘Nanouk’ Wandering Jew ‘Nanouk’, also known as Wandering Trad, Wandering Willie, Wandering Gypsy, Small-leaf Spiderwort, River Spiderwort, White-flowered Spiderwort, Speedy Henry, Inch Plant, and Giant White Inch Plant, is an herbaceous compact, low-growing perennial with a hanging habit and fleshy stems that reach 12 inches in height and known for its striking purple and green variegation and violet leaf undersides and attractive star-shaped white flowers that bloom in spring and summer. The showy white blooms gives an incredible contrast to the plants overall appearance with its cacophony of colors. It can grow an inch every week and its roots and leaf nodes are one inch apart. It loves bright light which seems to help it express its color, and it stays very compact, true to form. It’s extremely easy to care for and is recommend for personal collections and makes a valuable plant for commercial horticulture. Requires semi-shade or filtered light as direct sun or full shade does not suit it. Tradescantia fluminensis does best in 60-80º F but proves to be hardier than other species, dying back around 45º F.
