Over the past couple of years I have done this mod to several basses and it’s so worthwhile. These basses are overall well made, but really lacking in their electronics and either of these two upgrade resolves all of that. Choose from either the Bartolini 2 Band or 3 Band Preamp with my favorite Bartolini Humbucker, the Classic. This mod pack will completely transform your MM style bass. The pack includes your pickup, a pre-wired preamp to the same shape as the Sterling by MusicMan Control Plate.. These mod packs are for the Sterling by MusicMan & other Indonesian look-alikes of the original MusicMan Bass style bass. With the traditional layout of 1 Humbucker & a three knob, 1 jack control plate layout. Not only does this mod significantly improve the sound of your bass, with either of the below options you get Active/Passive Push/Pull on your Volume Knob. Regardless of what pack you choose. Meaning if the worst case happens and your battery goes dead on stage. You can bypass the preamp and at least continue your song or set until you can install the new battery.
